What we do

Eight services, one number

A remodel usually means a flooring crew, a stair guy, a painter, a deck builder and someone to haul it all away. The whole idea of D'Avila Handyman is that it means one person instead — the same hands from the first measurement to the final cleanup, on every service below.

Remodeled living room with dramatic dark walls and refinished floors

General Remodeling

Full-room and whole-home remodels handled end to end — demo, framing, floors, paint and finish. The living room in this photo is our remodel, walls to floor.

Rich hardwood flooring we installed

Flooring & Tile

Hardwood, luxury vinyl plank and large-format tile — installed flat, tight and level, like the hardwood in this photo. Prep and leveling included, not skipped.

Remodeled staircase with oak rail and white balusters

Stairs & Railings

Our specialty — stair remodels, new balusters in wood or iron, railings and refinished treads. The staircase in this photo is ours, and there are more below.

Covered porch we built with white railings and red-painted floor

Decks, Porches & Pergolas

New decks, covered porches, pergolas and outdoor structures, built straight and to last — we have even built a full wooden footbridge, and it is in the gallery below.

Double vanity with new mirrors and lighting we installed

Bathroom Remodeling

Vanities, tubs, tile and lighting — full refreshes that turn the oldest room in the house around. The double vanity in this photo is our installation.

Red and gray striped accent wall with crisp lines

Interior Painting

Clean interior painting with sharp lines — from whole rooms to bold accent walls like the striped wall in this photo. Furniture protected, no mess left behind.

New wood privacy fence on solid posts

Fences

Wood privacy fences and gates, set plumb on solid posts — like the new fence in this photo — and built to stay that way through Carolina weather.

Closet framing built out in a bedroom

Carpentry & Drywall

Framing, drywall, closets, doors and trim — the space additions that make a house fit your life. The closet in this photo went from bare wall to built.

Why D'Avila

One person answering for the whole job

In Norge's own words: he does remodeling and space additions offering a variety of services so you never find yourself dealing with several people for one project. That is the whole business model, and it changes how a remodel feels.

One schedule, not five

When the floor, the stairs, the paint and the deck are one job, nothing waits on another contractor's calendar and nobody blames the last crew. The project moves in order, because one person owns the order.

The details most crews avoid

Stairs and railings are fussy, slow, visible work — which is why so many remodelers avoid them and why we lead with them. A crew that gets balusters straight brings that same patience to your floors and trim.

English & Spanish

One number — (980) 371-4620 — takes calls and WhatsApp in either language. The estimate, the questions and the follow-up all happen in the language that is easier for you.

Proof over promises

We do not claim awards or invent numbers. We show finished staircases, porches, floors and bathrooms that we actually built — and give you a free, in-person estimate so the price is real before the work is.

How it works

From phone call to finished project

1

Call or WhatsApp

Tell us your city and what the project is — a photo or two by WhatsApp tells us most of it before we arrive. English or Spanish, whichever is easier.

2

Free estimate, in person

We walk the project with you — the subfloor, the framing, the access — and give you a clear price. No cost, no commitment; if it works, we schedule.

3

One person does the work

Everything quoted gets done by the same hands, in the right order — demo before floors, floors before trim, paint last. Your home stays protected the whole way.

4

Clean when we leave

Scraps, dust and old material leave with us. The project is done when it looks like the photos on this page — finished, straight and clean.

Charlotte reality

Homes here have their own patterns

The Charlotte area built entire neighborhoods in the same few years — which means whole streets hit remodel age together. Knowing what these houses share is half the job.

The builder-grade stair problem

Thousands of 90s and 2000s two-stories got the same oak rail and carpet-wrapped stairs. New balusters — wood or iron — refinished treads and a solid rail transform the first thing every guest sees, without touching the structure.

Porch season is long here

Carolina evenings are made for covered porches — and Carolina sun and humidity are hard on open decks. A covered porch or pergola turns the backyard into a real room for most of the year, and it is some of our favorite work to build.

Space additions beat moving

With prices what they are, finishing a bonus room, building out closets or opening a layout costs a fraction of moving up the street. Framing, drywall, flooring and trim — one person, one pass, more house.

Red clay and privacy fences

Charlotte's red clay moves with the seasons, and fence posts set carelessly lean within a year or two. Posts set deep and plumb in proper footings — like the fences in our photos — stay straight, and so do the gates.

Who does the work

The photos are the résumé

D'Avila Handyman is Norge Avila's remodeling business, based in Charlotte and working across the towns around it — Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Huntersville and Concord. The staircases with new iron balusters, the covered porch with the red floor, the large-format tile set with leveling clips, the striped accent wall, the footbridge over the creek: every photo on this site is a job he actually did.

The business exists because of one frustration every homeowner knows: needing five contractors for one house. Norge's answer is to do the variety himself — remodeling, space additions, floors, stairs, decks, baths, paint, fences, carpentry — so one call covers the whole job and one person answers for the result. Call or WhatsApp (980) 371-4620, in English or Spanish, and you are talking directly to the person who will do the work.

Common questions

Straight answers

Is the estimate really free?

Yes — every estimate starts with an in-person visit and ends with a clear price, and it costs you nothing. A real price comes from standing in the room: seeing the subfloor, the framing, the access. If the price works, we schedule; if not, you lost nothing.

Do you take small jobs, or only full remodels?

Both — handyman is in the name. A leaning fence section, one bathroom vanity, a single accent wall: all welcome. Many clients start with a small job to see how we work, then call back for the bigger remodel with the confidence of having watched us handle the first one.

Can you redo my stairs without rebuilding the staircase?

Usually, yes — most builder-grade staircases have solid structure under dated finishes. New balusters in wood or iron, a refinished or re-capped tread, a solid new rail and fresh paint transform the look without touching the framing. The stair photos on this page are exactly that kind of remodel.

What does a 'space addition' mean exactly?

Making the house you have fit the life you have — framing and finishing an unused space, building out closets where there were none, opening or dividing rooms, adding the porch or deck that becomes the extra room. It is framing, drywall, flooring, doors and trim working together, which is exactly the point of having one person do all of them.

Do you work in my town?

Charlotte is home base, and the everyday circuit covers Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Huntersville and Concord, plus the neighborhoods between them. A little outside that? Call or WhatsApp and ask — the truck already covers a lot of road.

How fast can you start?

Tell us the job and we will tell you honestly — a small repair often fits within days, a full remodel gets scheduled like the project it is. Either way you get a real date at the estimate, not a guess, and you hear from us if anything changes.

Where we work

Charlotte and the towns around it

CharlotteMatthewsMint HillPinevilleHuntersvilleConcordand all around

The Charlotte area is many housing generations at once — 90s two-stories in Matthews with builder-grade stairs, ranches on big Mint Hill lots with room for a real deck, mill-town houses in Concord that need honest carpentry, and new Huntersville subdivisions with bonus rooms waiting to become rooms. From Charlotte, every one of these towns is inside the everyday circuit — same person, same standard, same number everywhere.

One call. One person. The whole job.
