General Remodeling in Charlotte

Full-room and whole-home remodels handled end to end by one person — no juggling contractors — in Charlotte and all around it.

A remodel usually means hiring a framer, then a drywall guy, then a painter, then whoever does the floors — and hoping they all show up in the right order. D'Avila Handyman skips that. Norge Avila handles the whole job himself: one call, one person on site, one person to blame if something's off and one person to thank when it's done right.

Charlotte's growth in the 1990s and 2000s left a lot of houses with builder-grade finishes that are due for an upgrade, and the older bungalows closer to downtown often need real carpentry to bring them up to how people actually live now. Either way, a full remodel is a lot of moving parts. D'Avila keeps it simple: he comes out, looks at the space, and tells you straight what it'll take.

What's included

A full remodel touches nearly every trade in the house — demo, framing, drywall, trim, flooring, tile and paint, plus whatever carpentry ties it together. Doing that as one person means nothing gets lost between contractors: the guy who framed the closet is the same guy hanging the door and painting the trim, so the details actually line up.

Good remodel work shows in the parts nobody points out — floors that are actually level, corners that are square, transitions between rooms that don't have a lip or a gap. That's what Norge is checking for on every job, whether it's one room or the whole house. If the project includes adding space — bumping out a room, finishing part of the house that wasn't livable before — that falls under the same visit and the same estimate.

How we work

Walkthrough

Norge comes to the house, looks at the space and hears what you want out of it.

Estimate

You get a straight estimate for the full scope before any work begins.

The Work

Demo, framing, drywall, flooring, trim and paint — handled in order, by one person.

Walkthrough & Cleanup

You walk the finished space together and the site is cleaned up before Norge leaves.

General Remodeling by city

The Charlotte area is many housing generations at once — a 1990s two-story in Matthews, a ranch on a big Mint Hill lot and a new Huntersville subdivision each remodel differently, and we work in all of them.

Common questions

Do I need to hire separate people for framing, drywall and painting?
No. Norge handles the whole remodel himself, so it's one call and one person responsible for the entire job, not a rotating cast of subcontractors.
How does the estimate work?
Norge comes out and looks at the space in person, talks through what you want, and gives you an estimate for the full job before anything gets started.
Can a remodel include adding more space, not just updating what's there?
Yes — space additions and expanding a room are part of what D'Avila does, and it gets scoped in the same estimate visit as the rest of the remodel.
